Runners who missed out on securing a standard entry for the 2026 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon (TTOM) have been given a renewed opportunity to take part in the iconic race through the event’s Charity Entry Programme, while also making a meaningful contribution to society.
The organisers of the world-renowned marathon have announced that charity entries for the 2026 edition are now available through 35 selected charity partners. This initiative allows runners to gain guaranteed entry into the race by committing to support charitable organisations that are making tangible and lasting impacts within communities.
Speaking on the importance of the programme, Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, described the Charity Entry Programme as a cornerstone of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon’s legacy.
“The Charity Entry Programme is incredibly close to our hearts,” Meyer said. “TTOM has always been about more than just the race. It represents people, communities and the shared spirit that makes this event truly special. By choosing a Charity Entry, runners are not only securing their place on the start line, but they are also directly contributing to the upliftment of causes that make a real difference.”
He added that each step taken by participants on race day will symbolise support for meaningful work being carried out across the country, reinforcing the marathon’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility.
According to Meyer, interest in the 2026 Charity Programme exceeded expectations, with a total of 69 applications received from non-profit organisations during the application window. To ensure fairness and transparency, the selection process followed a stringent multi-phase evaluation.
“At the end of the process, 35 diverse charity partners were selected,” Meyer explained. “Each of these organisations is doing exceptional work in their respective fields, ranging from health and education to social development and community upliftment.”
The organisers noted that the number of entries allocated to each charity will vary, depending on capacity and programme structure. As a result, runners interested in participating through this route are strongly encouraged to contact their chosen charity partners as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon, often referred to as “The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon,” continues to stand out not only for its scenic route and challenging course but also for its emphasis on inclusivity and positive social impact. The Charity Entry Programme has become an integral part of the event, enabling runners to align their personal athletic goals with causes that contribute to national development.
As anticipation builds towards the 2026 edition, the initiative further reinforces the marathon’s role as a platform that unites sport, philanthropy and community engagement. For many participants, running the Two Oceans Marathon through a charity entry offers a deeper sense of purpose, turning a personal achievement into a collective victory for those in need.
